SOUTH BELOIT, Ill. — Two young teens were arrested for stealing a car.
Just after 9:15 p.m. on Monday, South Beloit Police officers were notified about a stolen car in Beloit. Soon after, the car, a 2012 Chevy Impala, was spotted by officers.
The officers attempted to pull the Impala over, but it drove off. After a short chase, the Impala stopped and two people wearing black masks got out and ran.
Both occupants, a 15-year-old and a 13-year-old, were taken into custody.
The 15-year-old was taken to the Winnebago County Juvenile Detention Center. They were charged with unlawful possession of a stolen car, aggravated fleeing to elude, reckless driving, speeding, resisting a police officer, driving with no license, and improper lane use.
