Giants rookie receiver Beaux Collins sounded on Tuesday like a player who had been scolded severely for his route-running blunder that led to Jaxson Dart’s second interception in New Orleans on Sunday.

Collins stopped running his slant route as Saints corner Kool-Aid McKinstry jammed him, and that allowed the New Orleans defensive back to make an uncontested catch of Dart ‘s throw with five minutes to play and New Orleans up by 12.

“First and foremost, that’s a play that obviously can’t happen, won’t happen again,” Collins said Tuesday at his locker. “In the heat of the moment, I was torn between continuing to run or whipping [the route] back out because the corner cut me off.
