TYLER COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - Tyler County Judge Milton Powers issued a burn ban order on Tuesday because of countywide drought conditions.

The order, active for no more than seven days from Tuesday unless renewed by the commissioners’ court, prohibits outdoor burning.

Violations are punishable by a fine up to $500.

Polk County: Polk County Judge Sydney Murphy also signed a burn ban on Tuesday due to the elevated fire weather conditions and the threat of wildfire.
