Heading into Week 6 of the NFL season, we've sorted out the distorted picture that is the NFL just a little bit more. However, it's still early, and it's difficult to predict what might happen by the end of the year. But still, we take a crack at power ranking the NFL teams every week of the season, so here's what we have after another weekend of NFL fun.

5. San Francisco 49ers 4-1 - Previous Rank (Unranked)

The 49ers have also looked good this season, handling every task that's come their way except a closely fought showdown with the Jaguars (who also enter the top five this week) that ended in just a five-point loss. Even when down to their backup quarterback in a primetime battle with a divisional rival, they have the talent to pull out a win. That's a top-five team.

4. Jacksonville Jaguars 4-1 - Previous Rank (Unranked)

It's time to put some respect on the Jaguars' name. Say what you will about the loss to the Bengals, which was also a game the Bengals started with Joe Burrow still healthy. But wins in consecutive weeks over the 49ers and Chiefs prove that Jacksonville is among the top teams in the NFL at this moment.

3. Buffalo Bills 4-1 - Previous Rank (2)

Like Icarus flying too close to the sun, the Bills' undefeated start and ascent to second place in these rankings last week was too much too quickly. Now, after a loss to a divisional rival in the Patriots (who may also deserve a reevaluation), the Bills have dropped a spot – when all it would have taken would have been a win to claim the top spot.

2. Philadelphia Eagles 4-1 - Previous Rank (1)

Make no mistake, the Eagles are still one of the best teams in the league, and it's hard to discount the defending Super Bowl champions after they got off to an undefeated start. But you can't give up 18 points in the fourth quarter for your first loss of the year and maintain the top spot in the NFL power rankings. So alas, the Eagles have dropped to the second spot this week, but no further, thanks to a loss by the Bills as well.

1. Detroit Lions 4-1 - Previous Rank (3)

The Lions' loss in Week 1 might have been a fluke, or it might not have been. However, they've continued to look dominant since, and it doesn't hurt that the two teams that were still above them in these rankings both suffered losses in Week 6, while the Lions pulled out a double-digit win.
