GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — After suffering a spinal cord injury, a New Hampshire man is hoping to inspire others with his story.

Thomas Jimino spends much of his life in his van, which he converted to travel the country. When he travels, he likes to spend time outside.

“Mountain biking, road biking, kayaking, canoeing, swimming,” said Jimino.

His van is special van that he converted not only to live in, but also to be accessible.

“I was going to die. I would have snapped,” said Jimino.

Eight years ago, the retired truck driver turned farmer was fixing his roof when he fell eight feet and injured his spine. The injury left him paralyzed from the waist down and he has to use a wheelchair.
