(WTVO) — Astute viewers were alarmed when it was discovered that Amazon Prime Video had removed guns from the artwork promoting James Bond films on its service last week.

According to Variety, users in the U.K. noticed that promotional images from the film series had been digitally altered to remove Bond's weapons.

Gun-free images of "Dr. No," "GoldenEye," "A View to A Kill," "Spectre," and other titles were later replaced by movie stills after fan backlash.

"They photoshopped all the guns out of the James Bond movie thumbnails. Just in case you still had hope for Amazon being in charge of the franchise," one user wrote.
