WASHINGTON COUNTY, Mo. (First Alert 4) - A woman was charged Sunday with murder and related charges after deputies say she shot and killed her boyfriend in their shared residence in Mineral Point.

Washington County prosecutors charged Josie Reed with first-degree murder, first-degree domestic assault, two counts of armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. Reed is being held on a $1 million bond at the Washington County jail.

The victim, a 30-year-old man, has not been publicly identified as of publication time.

Deputies say the shooting happened on Friday. According to a deputy’s affidavit, Reed had inconsistencies while she spoke with investigators.
