YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) -- It's possible no county in the United States has as much experience dealing with disaster.

Just three weeks ago, three Northern York County Regional Police Department detectives were killed in an ambush. Earlier this year, an officer was killed in a shooting at UPMC Memorial Hospital.

It's not a distinction any county wants, but York is prepared for the next crisis.

Dozens of organizations and officials gathered this week in the emergency operations center for a tabletop management drill. The drill happens twice a year, this one focused on public information in an emergency, while the previous ran through hazmat operations.
