(WHTM) -- Tuesday night's Hometown Heroes gave well-earned honors to women in tech.

The Technology Council of Central PA recently held a dinner at West Shore County Club to honor 17 women and one man who have gone above and beyond to attract and support women in a field that doesn't have many women.

Although the numbers are growing, three young women also received scholarships.

This has become an annual event and gets bigger every year.
