HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) -- A Huntersville town commissioner has resigned just before the end of her first term.
Mayor Christy Clark accepted the resignation of Amanda Dumas at Monday’s town board meeting. Dumas was first elected in 2023, when she came in fifth in commissioner voting.
Clark said Dumas’ resignation was required after moving out of the town limits to deal with a family matter. She also was a member of the Huntersville Public Arts Commission.
Dumas did not file for re-election, state records show.
The town has not indicated whether it will fill Dumas’ position for the reaming two months of her term.
