MATTHEWS, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A heavily opposed development will no longer be coming to Matthews, Mayor John Hidgon says.
Tuesday night, Mayor Hidgon posted on his official Facebook page that the developers for the proposed 120-plus-acre data center, Project Accelerate, have withdrawn their application. The project would have been along East John Street, adjacent to a Duke Energy substation and I-485.
