FOLEY, Ala. (WKRG) — The Kennedy House, a historic landmark in Foley, is being renovated into a "micro-resort."

The home, first built in 1948, is located at 516 West Laurel Avenue. Co-owner Marti Webster hopes to blend hospitality, design, and local spirit in this new adults-only destination.

A groundbreaking ceremony for "The Kennedy Resort" took place this morning from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the house to commemorate the beginning of the project.

Renovations will include restaurants, a coffee bar, a juice bar, a poolside venue, and 21 short-term rental villas.

Construction is set to begin in a few weeks and should be completed in 12 to 14 months, according to Foley businessman Daniel Cox.
