FULTON COUNTY, Ga. — A now-former Atlanta Police Department officer will spend nearly 30 years in prison after the deadly shooting of a Lyft driver last year.

Koby Minor, 34, had been charged with murder, felony murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in the killing of 35-year-old Reginald Folks in May 2024.

He agreed to a plea deal in September, according to court record, which reduced the murder charge to voluntary manslaughter and merged the aggravated assault charge. He was given 20 years in prison on the voluntary manslaughter charge and merged aggravated assault charge, plus five years for possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
