RAYNE, La. (KLFY) -- The Acadiana community is mourning the loss of Jeremy Thomas, a beloved local DJ also known as DJ Sausage. Thomas tragically died in a car crash involving a semi-truck early Sunday morning.

According to the Rayne Police Department, the accident occurred around 3:25 a.m. when Thomas' truck collided with the rear of a parked semi-truck on the shoulder of the highway. The news of his untimely death has deeply affected his family, friends and the community he served.

Cleveland Guidry, a family member, expressed the profound impact Thomas had on those around him.
