Housing Minister Clare O’Neil has refused to confirm whether ISIS brides have returned to Australia, as their repatriation from Syria remains shrouded in mystery.
Ms O’Neil refused to even acknowledge that any ISIS brides had returned, redirecting questions back to Foreign Minister Penny Wong and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese.
It comes after Ms Wong redirect questions to Mr Albanese and Mr Albanese refused to provide details about the cohort.
Appearing on Seven's Sunrise on Wednesday, Ms O’Neil would not concede that ISIS brides had returned to the country , despite the government having admitted to it.
Asked if she could confirm if “several” ISIS brides had returned to Australia, Ms O’Neil said: “I'm not. I'm not confirming anything that isn't already on the public record.”
