ATTALLA, Ala. —
A Foley man remained in jail after being arrested and charged in the shooting death of his son-in-law.
The Attalla Police Department reported Arthur Reynolds, 64, surrendered to police and was later charged with capital murder.
The arrest was made after police arrived at the scene of a shooting on Burke Avenue and Osborne Street shortly after 10 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
Attalla police said officers found David Smothers, 40, of Attalla, dead inside a vehicle at the scene.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation, and Reynolds is being held without bond in the Etowah County Detention Center.
