The city of Oneonta’s Community Police Board voted Tuesday, Oct. 7 to recommend that the Common Council endorse a resolution providing clarity on immigration policy, mirroring one passed in Cooperstown in August.

The board additionally voted to ask the Common Council to consider adding a resolved clause that “persons are encouraged to act with discretion as to whether they inform or document incidents” regarding any activities that they may witness by federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement or Department of Homeland Security officials.
