ROCK ISLAND, Ill. (KWQC) — For decades, a grocery store at 5th Street and 15th Avenue in Rock Island has been a neighborhood staple.

Now, a Rock Island man is using his social media fame to breathe new life into the longtime neighborhood store and help the community where he grew up.

“I spent the early part of my childhood across the street,” Johnson said. “I ended up moving to Sixth Street, a few blocks away, but when my mom brought me home from the doctor, I was a resident at Arsenal Courts. Now it’s called Century Woods.”
