Iam an 8th-grade boy. I recently watched the Joint Committee on Congressional Redistricting at the Ohio Statehouse. When I saw co-chair Adam Bird, a Republican from the Ohio River community of New Richmond, completely cut off Senate Minority leader Nickie Antonio of Lakewood -- a member of the committee -- when she had a question, I was furious. The other co-chair, state Sen. Jane Timken, a Stark County Republican, has said, “ the word ‘fairness’ (pertaining to redistricting) is not in the constitution ” -- but isn’t fairness implied?

This just shows the Republican Party doesn’t stand for fairness and equality! These legislators acted foolishly. We need more leaders who believe in common sense, not leaders who don’t believe in fairness and in letting each person have a voice. We want ch
