TOLEDO, Ohio — Mercy Health issued a notice to thousands of Humana members in the Toledo area that they could lose access to their Mercy Health doctors and facilities if ongoing contract negotiations fail to reach an agreement by December 1, 2025.

The health system stated the dispute affects more than 12,000 patients enrolled in Humana Managed Medicaid and Medicare Advantage plans. Without a new contract, Mercy Health hospitals, physician offices, urgent care centers, and other care sites across the region would become out-of-network for those members at the start of December.

The hospital noted that emergency services would still be covered, regardless of network status.
