MANDAN, N.D. (KFYR) - The Mandan City Commission approved and passed the city’s 2026 budget at Monday night’s meeting.

The budget totals $41 million, $3 million more than in 2025.

The commission attributed the increase primarily to employee salaries and benefits, including seven new full-time positions, operations and maintenance and debt.

In 2026, the City will invest $2.1 million in machinery, equipment and projects. This includes three police vehicles, a new pumper replacement apparatus for the Fire Department, and other pieces of machinery and equipment to help the City maintain its equipment.

The city says it is only raising the property tax levy by 2.3%.
