Across Canada, other provinces have no public funding allocated for independent schools

A new petition approved by Alberta’s chief electoral officer on Tuesday asks if the province should change its stance on public funding for independent schools.

The policy proposal for the approved citizen application lists the proposed question by proponent Alicia Taylor: “Should the Government of Alberta end its current practice of allocating public funds to accredited independent (private) schools?”
