FORT SMITH, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Fort Smith police say they made an arrest Oct. 7 in connection with a bomb threat made at Kimmons Middle School.
According to a press release, officers responded to a report of a bomb threat voicemail discovered at a business in the 3400 block of Rogers Avenue.
Police say they determined a delayed call had been placed on Oct. 3, and it implied Kimmons Middle School as a possible target.
Fort Smith police and the Fort Smith Public Schools Police Department worked together to identify a 14-year-old boy as the suspect. He was taken into custody on charges of threatening to commit an act of violence at a school and threatening a fire or bombing. Police say the threat itself had no merit.
Because the suspect is a minor and the case is ongoing, no more identify
