A man was struck and killed by a train in Kent on Tuesday, according to fire department officials.
Puget Sound Fire crews and Kent police responded to a report of a person hit by a train around noon near West Titus Street and First Avenue South, fire department spokesperson Pat Pawlak said in an email.
The man was dead on arrival. Pawlak said Kent police were investigating.
Police closed several railroad crossings during the investigation. They reopened around 3 p.m.
A spokesperson for Kent police was not immediately available to answer questions.
