The Regional Board of the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) has approved a proposal to set up a medical college at the ESI Hospital in Asansol. The Medical Council of India (MCI) had already granted its approval for establishing the college on a 20-acre campus within the ESI Hospital premises.
Speaking to The Statesman, Asansol North MLA and state cabinet minister for law, judiciary and labour, Moloy Ghatak, said that once the festive season concludes, the tendering process for the construction work of the medical college will begin.
