Early voting has begun in New Mexico. Dozens of New Mexicans gathered at the Bernalillo County Clerk's Annex to cast their ballots for the 2025 election on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025. Bernalillo County Clerk Michelle Kavanaugh states a high voter turnout is expected for this year's election because the highly anticipated Albuquerque mayoral race. There are currently six candidates for the mayoral race.

"In 2023—voter turnout was about 22%, but there wasn't a mayoral election on that ballot. We are expecting it to be a lot higher. There's a lot of interest in this mayoral election here in Albuquerque, and so we're expecting it to be quite a bit higher," Kavanaugh told KOAT.
