ORO VALLEY, Ariz. (KVOA) - A flag ceremony took place at the Oro Valley Town Hall Courtyard to honor a local Gold Star mother, Luann Galvin.

Galvin received an Honor and Remember flag from the nonprofit organization Rockin 4 Heroes. This recognition comes in memory of her son, U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer Taylor Galvin, who died in a helicopter crash in Iraq in 2018.

Rockin' 4 Heroes said the award symbolizes gratitude for her son's service and sacrifice.

"Well, it means a lot that my son is remembered and honored," Galvin said. "Especially by my community here, where I live here, in Oro Valley and I really appreciate it."
