A Sydney father has admitted he thought a text alerting him to a seven-figure prize was a joke when the message first popped up on his phone.
The Campbelltown resident had been told to check his tickets, before discovering he had in fact won $1 million in last Friday’s Weekday Windfall draw.
The lucky Sydneysider has since revealed he feels “blessed” after confirming the win at a newsagency.
“I never win anything, so you have no idea how I feel right now,” he told The Lott, saying the prize will really help him and his children.
“Oh my god. It’s amazing. It just means so much to me and my family."
He said when he received the message urging him to get his tickets checked, he thought “someone had to be joking”.
