James Dornom from Currie has been selected as part of the 11-strong Scotland coarse fishing team which defends the Celtic Cup this weekend.
He is joined by Rosalind Cassidy and Heather Lauriston, two members of the Edinburgh and Lothians Coarse Angling Club and they travel to the River Weaver at Northwich in North-West England for the match hosted by Wales.
It’s in England as the Welsh do not have a water suitable and Gus Brindle, chairman of the Scottish Federation for Coarse Angling, said: “Having seen the guys on a canal in Ireland and on a big Stillwater at Strathclyde Park, the fact that Wales have selected a river provides a great opportunity to further develop the anglers and to have a look at them on a running water venue.”
