Two friends whose respective Fan retail shops are separated by a single storefront have teamed up to take over that space in between.

Kate Jennings and Lauren McCrocklin have opened The Middle Shop at 103 S. Addison St., where Addison Handmade & Vintage closed in September after more than a decade in business.

The Middle primarily sells vintage clothing including denim, T-shirts and more, catering mostly to women’s apparel along with some menswear. The 500-square-foot shop is going for an eclectic mix that would appeal to fans of Addison Handmade, Jennings said.
