Srinagar- Punjab and Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday joined a growing list of states banning Coldrif cough syrup after at least 14 children in Madhya Pradesh reportedly died following its consumption. The move comes amid nationwide concerns over drug safety and regulatory lapses. .

Similar restrictions have already been imposed by Goa, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

In Arunachal Pradesh, the Drugs Control Administration also issued an advisory banning the sale, distribution, and stocking of the syrup, manufactured by Sresan Pharmaceutical.
