A man has died after a public place shooting in Sydney’s north-west on Wednesday afternoon.

Emergency services were called to Annaluke Street, Riverstone, north of The Ponds, following reports of a shooting about 6pm.

Paramedics treated the man at the scene, but he died from gunshot wounds.

About 15 minutes later, police were called to Riverstone Road, Riverstone, after reports of a car fire.

NSW Fire and Rescue extinguished the blaze, but the vehicle was destroyed.

Police have established crime scenes at both locations and are investigating whether the incidents are linked.

The man is yet to be formally identified.
