Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Sandipan Garg, cousin of the late legendary singer Zubeen Garg, was arrested on Wednesday by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the singer’s mysterious death in Singapore.

Sources said Sandipan Garg, who was present aboard the yacht in Singapore at the time of Zubeen’s death, was taken into custody after a round of questioning at the CID office in Guwahati. He is expected to be produced before the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court later in the day.

Sandipan had earlier been questioned by the SIT along with several others linked to the case. Following his interrogation earlier this week, he had written on Facebook: “I’ve fully cooperated with the SIT.”
