A freeze watch was released by the National Weather Service on Wednesday at 2:15 a.m. valid from Thursday 11 p.m. until Friday 9 a.m. for Northern Clinton, Northern Centre, Southern Centre, Northern Lycoming, Southern Clinton and Southern Lycoming as well as Blair, Huntingdon, Bedford, Fulton, Sullivan, Union, Snyder, Montour, Northumberland and Columbia counties.

The weather service describes, “Sub-freezing temperatures as low as 30 degrees possible Thursday night.”

“Frost and freeze conditions could kill crops, other sensitive vegetation and possibly damage unprotected outdoor plumbing,” says the weather service. “Those with agricultural interests should protect sensitive vegetation.”
