At least six workers died in a blast in a firecracker unit at V. Savaram village of Rayavaram Mandal in Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday (October 8, 2025).

The incident occurred while the workers were engaged in the manufacture of the firecrackers in Lakshmi Ganapathi Fire Works unit.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district Superintendent of Police Rahul Meena told The Hindu, “At least six people have died as their bodies have been burnt completely. They are believed to be workers in the firecrackers unit”.

“We are verifying the identities of the dead bodies which have been recovered from the site. The rescue operation is still in progress,” added Mr. Meena.
