COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCBD) – The South Carolina State Fair in Columbia will open its gates Wednesday for 12 days of entertainment, food, and rides.
This year's fair promises a variety of new experiences, including 15 new food and drink offerings, a mix of new and returning rides, and special exhibits. Visitors can also enjoy live music and entertainment, daily circus performances, and a special appearance by celebrity chef Sandra Lee.
"The South Carolina State Fair is more than an event — it’s a tradition that brings our state together year after year," said Nancy Smith, general manager of the SC State Fair.
The fair's theme for 2025, 'Harvesting Happiness,' highlights its commitment to community and education, with over $500,000 in scholarships awarded annually to students across the state.
