Netflix's fourth series of The Witcher has already sparked controversy amongst viewers following a "cringe-worthy" scene from the debut trailer.

Fresh footage from the upcoming series was released yesterday (Tuesday, 7th October), giving audiences their initial look at newcomer Liam Hemsworth stepping into the role of Geralt of Rivia, replacing Henry Cavill.

During the fourth series, Geralt finds himself cut off from his allies Yennefer of Vengerberg (portrayed by Anya Chalotra) and Ciri (Freya Allan) whilst the Continent faces devastation from warfare.

The official synopsis states: "As their paths diverge, and their goals sharpen, they stumble on unexpected allies eager to join their journeys.
