The artist behind the Perth’s Wildcats incredible new Indigenous uniform for the 2026 NBL season has revealed he was inspired by the club’s new era when creating the incredible design.
The Wildcats unveiled the striking new jumper on Wednesday, which will be worn against the Illawarra Hawks at RAC Arena on October 25 as part of the league’s Indigenous Round.
Whadjuk Noongar artist and Wildcats fan Richard Kickett, who has been practising Aboriginal art for the past seven years, said he was inspired by the off-season overhaul of the club, which included a brand-new logo.
“I wanted the design to represent the beginning of a new journey for the Perth Wildcats,” he said.
