The Blue Jays will attempt to advance to the American League Championship Series throwing a bullpen game against the New York Yankees phenom Cam Schlittler on Wednesday night.

All Schlittler did in the clinching game of the wild card round last Thursday was strike out 12 Boston Red Sox hitters while throwing eight scoreless innings, while looking overwhelmingly terrific.

This is the Yankees version of Trey Yesavage coming out to play, without the story of his late invitation to the big leagues.

So it’s Schlittler against a Blue Jays bullpen which has surrendered 12 runs in 12.1 innings pitched in the ALDS, with an earned run average of 8.76.
