COLUMBUS, Ohio —
The Ohio Supreme Court will consider Wednesday whether it's constitutional to bring a gun into a bar when you're also drinking.
The case stems from a 2022 shooting at a bar east of Columbus. Advertisement
Court documents say Elijah Striblin brought a concealed handgun inside and ordered at least one drink.
He then got in a fist fight in the bathroom and shot a man in the neck.
Striblin was ultimately convicted of inducing panic and illegal possession of a firearm inside a bar, which is a felony.
But, he appealed, and a lower court found the state law behind the illegal possession charge violated his Second Amendment rights.
If the state Supreme Court agrees, it may invalidate the law.
