COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Crews responded to a fire at an apartment complex early Wednesday morning.

According to the Colorado Springs Fire Department (CSFD), the structure fire is at the Arbor Point Apartments at 2503 Hancock Expy.

Crews reported a fire between floors in the wall. CSFD said the fire was knocked down quickly. Some residents were evacuated, and others sheltered in place.

Engine 11 and Truck 8 made sure there was no extension of the fire, and crews ventilated the structure to remove the residual smoke, CSFD said.

There were no reported injuries. CSFD asks people to avoid the area as crews continue working at the Hancock and Laramie intersection.

Crews have not yet shared the cause of the fire.
