Much of Michigan could see frost or a hard freezes Wednesday night, Oct. 8, as colder temperatures fill in behind a frontal system that moved across Michigan bringing rain Monday night and Tuesday.

For the second night in a row, freeze warnings are in place across the western Upper Peninsula, and frost advisories and freeze watches for the eastern half of the UP from late tonight through Thursday morning, Oct. 9.

" Widespread freeze conditions are expected across the interior locales of northern lower and eastern upper Michigan tonight, with frost conditions possible along the immediate coasts of the Great Lakes," the NWS said.

To the south, the northern Lower Peninsula — as far south as Saginaw Bay — is under a freeze watch.
