Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA)'s Tuesday morning social media post teasing a big bombshell related to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein has sent the internet into a frenzy.

"It’s coming to an end guys," Swalwell wrote on his X account. "I’ve spoken to a lot of House Republicans this week and they’ve confided that Trump’s movement/support is fading. As one told me, 'this Epstein bomb is about to drop ... It’s just a matter of time.'"

Following Attorney General Pam Bondi's refusal to answer questions about Epstein at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Tuesday, Swalwell's post boosted critics' hopes of an eventual release of the Epstein files.

"Hoping those Republicans stand behind their words publicly," wrote X account The Possum Politic, noting "whoever is brought down by [the Epstein files] brought it on themselves."

Not everyone was as enthusiastic. Veteran Steve Phillips wrote on his X account, "I hate these 'I spoke to Republicans behind closed doors and in dark hall ways and they are upset' stories. Name these people as we all know they whisper sweet nothings in your ear and then run out and fully vote for and support all Trump does."

"With every growing scandal I was certain that this will be the end of the corrupt regime. And each and every time I was wrong. I hope you are right," wrote X user Carsten Hucho.

Smitty73 wondered, "How long does it take to regenerate a backbone?" while Mike Morton said, "Something tells me the truth is far worse than anyone could imagine."
