Both agriculture and animal husbandry serve as income sources for farmers in the northeastern states. According to Dr. Ashok Santra, the idea of integrated farming is particularly pertinent for farmers today due to unpredictable rainfall and climate change affecting agricultural crops.
The ICAR–National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Eastern Regional Station, Kalyani, West Bengal, successfully organized a one-day Animal Health and Input Distribution Camp on October 8, 2025, at the Conference Hall of Bagma Agri Producer Company Limited (BAPCL), Bagma, Gomati District, Tripura. The programme was held under the NDRI–NEH Project to promote better animal health, productivity, and farmers’ income in the North Eastern region.
