Our coast - especially the Outer Banks - faces another significant threat later this week into the weekend.

While this likely won't be a named storm, it will behave very similarly. The only difference - in this case - between a Nor'Easter and a tropical system is the structure of their core.

A Nor'Easter has a cold core, while a tropical system has a warm core. That's it.

National Weather Service offices up and down the East Coast are warning of rough surf and rip currents, along with the potential for strong wind gusts and coastal flooding.

The Outer Banks could see 2-4 feet of additional inundation, which could put more homes at risk of tumbling into the ocean . Not to mention, there will likely be the king tide from time to time.
