A host of India stars have made significant gains in the latest ICC Men’s Test Player rankings following their dominant innings-and-140-run victory over the West Indies in Ahmedabad, a result that gave their World Test Championship campaign a flying start.

At the heart of India’s triumph were their experienced match-winners. Pace spearhead Mohammed Siraj climbed three places to a career-best No.12 in the Test bowlers’ rankings after claiming seven wickets in the match, while Jasprit Bumrah continued to hold a firm grip on the No.1 spot with another impressive outing that included three scalps.
