A West Lothian MSP has urged constituents to get involved in the Scottish Government’s compulsory purchase consultation. ‌

Linlithgow MSP Fiona Hyslop spoke out after the Scottish Government opened a consultation on a comprehensive package of proposals to modernise compulsory purchase in Scotland. ‌

The Scottish Government state that it wants compulsory purchase to fulfil its potential as a tool for delivering projects in the public interest – one that encourages authorities to make positive and proactive use of their powers, including in partnership with third parties. ‌
