Thamarassery: Tension gripped the Government Taluk Hospital at Thamarassery on Wednesday after a doctor was allegedly attacked with a machete by the father of a young girl who had died of amoebic meningoencephalitis in August.
The incident has sparked outrage and led to a flash strike call by the Kerala Government Medical Officers’ Association (KGMOA) in Kozhikode district. Speaking to the Hindu , KGMOA functionaries said all services, except emergency care, would be boycotted. However, at the Thamarassery Taluk Hospital, no services would be offered, they added.
