Australians struggling with the rising cost of living are making a dramatic lifestyle change, selling up and moving overseas to countries like Indonesia where their dollar stretches much further.

The Schendels are among those who have taken the plunge, relocating to Bali eight months ago after becoming burned out and priced out back home.

“It’s amazing. We’re eight months in and we love it,” Rachael Schendel told 7NEWS.

Now life is slower, simpler and cheaper.

The family says the difference in lifestyle they can now afford is “markedly different”.

Mother Tiffany Grubb was enjoying the move with her family too.

“Bali has really given us that freedom to enjoy our life,” she said.
