The Philadelphia Museum of Art has a new name -- one you’ve probably used for years.

On Wednesday, October 8, the historic museum "reintroduced itself" as the Philadelphia Art Museum.

Now, the new name might not come as a shock to many, as most Philadelphians have always referred to it as the "Philadelphia Art Museum" or simply the "Art Museum."

With the new name change, the museum has also unveiled a whole rebrand with a new logo, new signage, new merchandise, and a website overhaul that emphasizes making art accessible, relevant, and connected to Philadelphians.

The new logo, which can be seen hanging on the east terrace of the museum, features a revived and redrawn griffin.
